Choosing The Right Panel Configuration

The beauty of plantation shutters is that you can let in plenty of light and enjoy views to the outside, simply by adjusting the angle of the louvers.

So, what’s the right panel configuration to help you achieve this?

In our experience, shutters look best when they follow the layout of your windows, whereby the vertical members of the shutters align with the vertical framework of your windows.

As you build your online quote, and select and design your shutters, you’ll have total control over panel selection with your own windows in mind. We’re committed to providing complete expert support and advice along the way, so we’ll look at the measurements you provide us to determine the best panel size panels we can create for your windows and provide you with initial recommended designs, and further assistance should you need it.

You’ll also be given the opportunity to upload photos of your windows, which will further help us to determine the correct number of panels you need.

Choosing the correct panel size can be something of an art, as you’ll need to balance the correct panel size to the overall size of your shutters. While we would generally look to offer less obstructions by fitting the widest possible panel size, in some cases it’s more visually appealing to opt for a narrower look. For example, if your shutters are tall, we would suggest narrower shutter widths for a more balanced look.
